Very often this is the best (and many times the cheapest) way to make your
computer run the best and fastest that it's capable of :)
HOMEWhat's included* Backing up your saved information to CD or DVD when possible.
- This includes things like your office documents,
music files, bookmarks/favorites, etc. up to 5GB of information.
- Over 5GB will be charged $2 per GB (1GB = 1000MB).
- Obviously Pirated music, software, movies or other
illegal materials will not be knowingly saved.
- Please make sure to specify if your information is
not in the "My Documents" directory/folder.
* Erase/Format your hard drive
- This removes all information from your hard drive
as well as any virus or other evil problems :)
* Install operating system appropriate to your computers licensing
- For Microsoft (MS) Windows this would generally be determined
by the C.O.A. Sticker located on your computer.
- C.O.A. = Certificate Of Authenticity -- Usually
located on the side or back of the case.
- Retail package Windows would have the C.O.A.
located in a booklet or folder that came with the package.
- Customer may be required to provide install discs
for retail versions of MS Windows.
- For Apple OS-X the licensing can be looked up on Apples site as needed.
- Customers with OS-X other than 10.4 or 10.5 may
need to provide install discs.
- If no legal licensing can be provided, Windows or
OS-X cannot/will not be installed - It's the law.
* Install software provided by the customer to be included with the reload.
- This can include such things as anti-virus, office software, games, etc.
- There is NO extra charge for installing software
proved at time of computer drop off for OS install.
- Software provided by customer for install MUST be legally owned by customer.
- If provided discs cannot be used but are legal,
every reasonable effort will be made to provide a way to
install the software via other means (ie: attempt to
download or aquire another copy of the discs)
* Run updates of operating system and any software that is known to have needed updates or patches.
* Replace CMOS battery when possible or needed - NO EXTRA CHARGE!
* Update system BIOS if needed - ONLY deemed necessary.
* Remove covers and visually inspect compnents and clean dust from inside of case as possible.
- If you have so much dust inside your computer that
a full can of air is used there will be a $5 charge for the can of air.
- This is very rare to have happen but every once in
a while it does so I thought I should include this note.
*** NOTE
- Microsoft Windows Versions 95, 98, 98SE (Second
Edition) and ME are not reloaded or installed with the following
exceptions
- If the system is used for a propietary service and does not EVER get used on line.
- The reason
for this is there's NO security updates or security programs that I
feel are capable of keeping theses version
of Windows safe anymore, and there
hasn't been for quite some time. More info on this can be found on Microsoft site.
- Apple OS-X versions prior to OS-X 10.2 is no
longer recomended for use online due to most internet providers
requirements.
